This came to me one day: if the big printer companies (HP, Epson, Lexmark, etc) decided to stop production of all cartridges/toners for printers that are more than 2 years old (since that's the average turnaround time for most computer-related products), what would happen to all of the refilling solutions, like refill kits and refill machines? I know that it's a long shot that any of the companies would do such a thing, but then, it'd also be so easy for them to "pull the plug" and force consumers to upgrade to new printers. And consumers could, of course, use compatible cartridges/toners. But my concern focuses on the refilling methods, which as far as I know, can only be used with the original cartridges/toners. It seems to me that companies like StroudCo, R-Jet Tek, Ramora, Inke, etc depend on the printer companies for their livelihood. But has anyone ever thought about this? |
