    > Congratulations Carry,
Glad you got the hang of it. No all ink isn't the same, there are some inks sold that are just plain no good, just want your $. You have to be very careful and know the brands, who's respectable and who isn't. For eg. UNIVERSAL INK= no good.....I could list more, but....i don't want to upset anyone...lol. Anyways, glad to hear your refilling days are getting easier.

I know, not a big deal to the experts, but I refilled a
black cartridge. In fact I also did one for my daughter,
too.

> I'd written here a few weeks ago about problems with refilling a color one (the first color one I tried, and using a prefilled ink kit)
> One thing that confused me, the refill kit(which is a prefilled closed plastic syringe part with a needle) said when I bought it ONE REFILL. On the package it says 1.5 refills. I thought I had to put all the ink from each in, which would be one refill. So, I overfilled it.
> Now I'm getting the hang of it, and as someone said the black one is easier. Do it more slow and keep watch at when it gets to the top of the hole. I've refilled 2 almost empty (Lexmark- not very big) cartridges and it still looks like there's half the ink left in the syringe.
> I have enough color ink to try refilling that one (again) when I need to. I bought a new color cartridge to start over with.
> Is all ink the same? Even though they sell the refill kits for various brands, I get the idea maybe it's the DIRECTIONS in it that are for those brands? Seems like ink would be ink? (aside from there being different kinds or grades of this)
> Can someone tell me a place I can get good ink, maybe in bottles (I don't think I need gallons, I've seen this somewhere) and a good (inexpensive) syringe to use with the bottled ink?
> I don't think buying the prefilled ones (kits) is the best, and most economical way. Even though it's better than buying new.
> I think printers are sold at low prices, because the companies make money on the cartridges after. My daughter bought a Lexmark printer (not an All in One like I have) for $35 at Walmart. It came with 2 cartridges and a pack of glossy photo paper. She did have to buy a cord for $8, not knowing that I have several of them from other things that would have worked. One I bought (new) on ebay once for $2 plus shipping.
> I had problems with my computer, had to reinstall Windows and ended up doing this several times and other confusing things (most of which I learned as I went along and from suggestions) for the past 1 1/2 weeks.
> Just wanted to let you know I did refill 2 black ink cartridges and starting to see how it's properly done.
